Deep in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea flows the Lamari River, a name that graces our rich Lamari coffee. Sourced from the valleys surrounding this river, each bean represents the culmination of nature's perfection and the diligent work of dedicated smallholder farmers.
Growing:
Perched at an altitude ranging from 1,700 to 2,000 meters above sea level, the Lamari River Valley Coffee Gardens stretch across the landscape. Here, the varietals Arusha, Blue Mountain, Bourbon, and Typica flourish, bathed in the region's unique climate. Each farm, although modest in size, brims with a commitment to excellence, with practices honed over the years ensuring a crop of the finest quality.
Roasting:
The beans from these gardens bring with them a promise of unparalleled flavor. With an SCA cup score of 84, they hint at the tantalizing notes of dark chocolate, mandarin orange, and black tea. Once roasted, they release their pronounced sweetness and a light-to-medium body that dances on the palate, finishing cleanly.
Pouring
In your cup, Lamari Washed Coffee tells a story of its origins. It speaks of the vast network of smallholders in the Lamari River Valley, the dedication to quality at every step, and the resilient spirit of Papua New Guinea's coffee producers.
